A personal note from Art Breakers founder Pier Fitts continued...
These people are the heart of our organization. This year I've spent almost 60 hours a week working with patients, and the heartache, coupled with the joy, is what keeps me going. There has been no shortage of need. Gaye and I and our new, expanded Board of Directors are working to make the organization a success. Without their dedication and commitment, much of what we've been able to accomplish this year would not have been possible. There's some good news. I just had a PET scan last month and was deemed "cancer free." More importantly, Artbreakers, I'm told, is now a "house-hold" name in our community. I'd like to take a moment to thank all of our sponsors throughout the year. There are many of them whom, when I send out an email or make a phone call, ALWAYS send checks, sometimes just to help keep our doors open. I am profoundly grateful for the support. There are others who graciously ALWAYS support our events. To all of them, thank you from our hearts. Artbreakers will be designing a page on our website just for our sponsors, we definitely want to share the love! We will also be working on setting up more links to other organizations and friends in the community to make our site a "one-stop" kind of place. Please let us know if someone out there would like to offer a service, or let it be known in our community that your organization exists. To all of our patients, both with us and not, we are very blessed to have served you and your loved ones. There is no greater feeling than the one of being "of service" to people suffering and lonely, people who just need a friend to say "I've been there," people who really don't have a single dime to their names. You name it, we've done it! To the organization's President, Gaye Jones and her husband, Bill, there are no words! Love to all, Pier
